Tasting Meals

If these happy moments spent with herbs in the Valley of Gerbaud have given you pleasure, you can prolong this journey onto the history of Provence.

Once a week, Paula received guests in a converted barn to taste dishes flavoured with her own herbs. There you can try whatever is on offer, at shared, convivial tables, not with waitress service but with everybody helping themselves. The dishes are all made with  organic, locally-grown, seasonal produce, cooked according to traditional Provençal recipes and served on long tables by candelight.

Simple, authentic fare, tasty and flavoursome, and which you can easliy reproduce at your home thanks to Paual’s advice and the judicious use of her herbs. Here are some examples of the dishes you may be served:

Courgettes flan with basil and wild celery herb
Tomato tart with origano
Veal with sage
Goats’ cheese with savory
Lavender- or aniseed-flavoured cookies

Some of the receipes uses can be found in a cookery book published by the “Accueil en provence Paysanne” association which has brought together 240 recipes from Provençal farming families.
